Owned and Operated by Mike Sobel, Undertone Studios was created as a high quality alternative to higher priced digital recording studios. Don’t confuse low rates with low quality!

While obtaining a Bachelor of Music from the Maynard Ferguson Institute of Jazz at Rowan University, Mike has gained a complete understanding of what is essential to producing great music both in a live setting and in the studio. Mike knows that it takes both technical savvy & musical knowledge to create a great recording and has studied both aspects of the process in depth. He has spent countless hours honing his recording skills beginning with recordings of his Jr. High School rock bands in “make- shift” studios and later culminating with hours spent in Rowan University’s Pro Tools studio.

Mike currently teaches Guitar and Music Theory and is proficient in all styles of music. He has studied Composition and Arranging with Denis Diblasio. Mike also maintains a busy performance schedule playing a myriad of styles including Rock, Funk, Blues, R&B, Hip-Hop, Classical, and Jazz. He has performed live with Jazz greats Stanley Clarke, Denis Diblasio, and Randy Brecker.
